Happy Mothers Day Wishes

Are Fitness Trackers Dead

In an article written by tech blogger, @ShellyPalmer, we will discover the answer to our headline question. I do not believe in “reinventing the wheel”, so the only thing I will share is: I have replaced three bands on my Fitbit. I would carry the tracker in my pocket, shoe, waistband to keep up with it to get my count. Finally, I lost it in November 2016 and haven’t replace it. I admit, it was liberating, but I was also too cheap to buy another one. Well, that being said, let’s get started with an excerpt from Shelly’s blog. Be sure to click the link at the end to get the whole picture. I would love to read your thoughts on the subject. What’s  your opinion?

RIP Fitness Trackers by Shelly Palmer

“Welcome to the ancient art of consuming appropriate quantities of nutrient-dense, fiber-rich, low-sugar foods. Without all of the quantified, gadgetized distractions, losing weight just got easy again.”

60 Days In (Now 130)

I started this blog 90 days ago and got distracted. Well. The headline above refers to being two months into the new year, that will soon be an old year, as we settle way into what’s happenings in our lives, community, country and the world. How have these categories affected you mentally, physically and spiritually? Has your stress level risen out of control? Gained weight? Mad at GOD? Running towards GOD? Angry at your neighbor? Angry at yourself? That’s enough. I believe you get the idea.

While a good counselor and coach and perhaps even a mentor, will help us work through our issues and our emotional response to them, what can we do to aid the process? You guessed it! Exercise and proper eating. Notice I did not say “diet”, as it has too many meanings. I am not going to teach you anything new here, but to say “you already know” that staying hydrated holds the key to our well-being.

A few facts. Rather than “reinvent the wheel”, I found a great article citing six great benefits of drinking enough water. They include:

  1. Brain health
  2. Weight loss
  3. Detoxification
  4. Regularity
  5. Youthful skin
  6. Healthy muscles
